Police said a shooting in downtown Lexington Saturday night appeared to be the result of a robbery victim fighting back.
The shooting occurred on East Second Street between Jefferson Street and North Broadway at 9:23 p.m.
Police officers responding to calls of shots fired found a man with a gunshot wound, Lt. Sam Murdock said. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two guns were recovered at the scene, Murdock said.
Few other details were released, including the names of the two men involved.
Detectives and patrol officers were interviewing neighbors and collecting evidence to corroborate the shooter's story. No charges had been filed as of 11:30 p.m.
