A Russell County man was arrested Monday on multiple charges after leading police on a 40-mile chase in Anderson and Mercer counties, Kentucky State Police said in a release.
Dallas Corey Crawford, 38, of Russell Springs was taken to the Lawrencburg Police Department and later booked at the Shelby County Detention Center.
A Kentucky state trooper stopped Crawford Monday morning for operating without a seatbelt on southbound U.S. 127 south of Lawrenceburg. When the trooper learned the driver had an active arrest warrant, Crawford resisted and fled the scene at a high rate of speed, the release said.
The 1991 Ford Taurus that Crawford was driving was finally slowed in Mercer County by a moving roadblock. The Taurus hit the back of Harrodsburg police cruiser but the officer was not hurt. Crawford lost control of his vehicle and wrecked on Bohon Road in Mercer County.
