The Office of the Fayette County Sheriff will extend its hours of operation to collect property taxes as the deadline approaches.
The sheriff's office on the second floor of the Fayette District Court building, 150 North Limestone, will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday in order to collect property taxes, according to a news release.
Monday is the deadline for paying property taxes to the sheriff's office. Bills that have not been paid will be transferred to the Fayette county clerk, and late fees will be applied.
Residents also can pay property taxes online at Fayettesheriff.com.
