A man found dead in the back seat of a pickup truck at Lindsey Wilson College on Tuesday morning might have been there for up to five days.
Adair County Coroner Todd Akin said the man had not been positively identified, and his cause of death was unknown.
Akin said the owner of the black Dodge pickup in which the man was found has not been heard from since May 30, but the body was too badly decomposed to be identified.
A receipt found in the truck was dated May 30, he said.

Akin declined to name the owner of the truck, but he said it is a man of about 24 or 25 years old who commutes to Lindsey Wilson from Russell County.
The truck, a dual cab with black tinted windows, was parked at Grider Apartments, a complex for Lindsey Wilson students.
Akin said someone had complained about a bad odor, and a grounds keeper who was investigating that complaint "noticed the smell was coming from the truck." The grounds keeper looked in the truck's window and saw the body.
