Lexington police arrest suspect in Monday bank robbery

Lexington police on Wednesday arrested a suspect in connection with a Monday bank robbery, according to a news release.

Alfred Ray Deaton, 51, has been charged with first-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

On Monday, at approximately 10:42 a.m., there was an armed robbery at American Founders Bank, at 3750 Palomar Center Drive.

Witnesses said a male suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The employees complied, and the suspect fled the area in a black Nissan Maxima, the release said.
