Four people were arrested in Laurel County on Tuesday night on charges of drug trafficking.
The arrests come after an investigation into drug trafficking within 1,000 feet of South Laurel High School, according to the Laurel County sheriff's office.
Joshua L. Hess, 27, and Clayton Blanton, 29, both of London, were arrested on charges of trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, and trafficking of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school. They were arrested on Apartment Complex Road around 5 p.m., according to a news release.
Almost at the same time, police arrested Jerry A. Russell, 23, and Michelle Russell, 28, both of London, at Finley Trailer Park Road, which is a mile south of London. They were charged with trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces.

Police seized bags of marijuana, pipes, needles, scales, money and other drug paraphernalia, the news release said.
