2nd employee at Somerset home charged in recorded patient assault

A second employee of a Somerset care center has been charged in a patient assault that was recorded on a cellphone, according to Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's office.

Cody Burton, 21, of Burnside was charged with two counts of knowing neglect of a vulnerable adult and one count of failure to report the neglect of a vulnerable adult, according to a news release.

Burton is an employee of Oakwood Manor in Somerset, where patients have developmental disabilities. Burton's arrest follows the arrest Sept. 16 of Coty King, another Oakwood employee, who was charged with enticing one adult patient at the home to hit another while King recorded video of the attack on his cellphone. Burton is accused of participating in the attack and failing to report it.

Burton was taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
