Coroner IDs man found in Thoroughbred Park; need help finding kin

Foul play does not appear to be a factor in the death of a man whose body was found in Lexington's Thoroughbred Park at Short Street and Eastern Avenue Tuesday morning, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office has identified the man as Stephen Bernard Stout, 62, of Lexington. The case is still under investigation and a cause of death has not been finalized, the coroner said.

The coroner's office asked the public for help to locate family or friends to claim Stout's body. His last known address was 106 West Seventh Street.

The death was likely from natural causes, said police Lt. Chris Van Brackel. Stout had a cut to the lip, which likely was the source of reports to police that a man was bleeding profusely, Van Brackel said.

Roberts said a bus driver reported he saw a person down in the park.
