Police say Clay City woman tried to sell stolen UK men's basketball tickets

State police have charged a Clay City woman after she allegedly tried to sell a set of 2013 University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball tickets that belonged to someone else.

Jackie M. Baty, 23, was arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property worth less than $10,000, police said.

Troopers with the Kentucky State Police's Kentucky State Morehead Post said they received a report on Wednesday of a suspicious person at the Frosty Freeze Restaurant at the Midland community in Bath County.

Trooper Nathan Shortridge went to the scene, where he picked up information indicating that Baty was attempting to sell the set of Big Blue tickets.

According to state police, Shortridge soon ascertained that the tickets actually belonged to Baty's neighbor, Donna R. Kirby of Clay City.

The tickets were in a ticket book, with all tickets present except for the first game of the season, state police said.

Baty was being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center.
