A Mount Vernon woman has been charged with murder and multiple other offenses in connection with a Nov. 27 wreck in Laurel County that caused one death and injured several other people.

Sheriff's deputies said they arrested Cora M. Wilson on Sunday at her parents' home in eastern Laurel County.

Officers alleged that Wilson, 35, was driving under the influence of numerous narcotics on the night of the fatal crash.

She is charged with murder, three counts of assault, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. Wilson is being held in the Laurel County Detention Center.

One of those injured in the wreck, Darlene Woods, 58, of London, died of her injuries earlier this month at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. At least five people were hurt in the two-car crash that occurred about 7:45 p.m. Nov. 27 on Ky. 80, about nine miles east of London, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Department.

Although she was arrested at her parents' home, Wilson's address is listed as Sand Springs Road in Mount Vernon.
