Lexington police investigate shooting of bank windows

Someone apparently fired pellets or BBs into the front window of a Lexington bank Monday night, police said.

The shots left marks or indentations in the window at the main offices of Bank of Lexington on Corporate Drive, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Tuesday. Employees noticed the damage when they arrived at work Tuesday morning, she said.

Roberts said police are trying to determine what type of gun was used. Once that's determined, the case will be turned over to detectives, she said.

It wasn't immediately known whether the projectiles penetrated the glass or only left indentations.

The shots, apparently fired overnight, didn't set off the bank's alarm system, according to Roberts.
