VERSAILLES — City officials say a power outage at the city's river pump station caused a boil water advisory for residents.
The city has not been able to maintain its normal level of water, causing lower-than-normal water pressure, according to a news release from the city.
Customers are under a boil-water advisory until further notice, the news release said. The advisory includes customers of Versailles Municipal Utilities, South Woodford Water and Northeast Woodford Water.
Versailles Public Works Director Bart Miller said late Thursday afternoon that the electrical problem has been corrected. But water quality tests throughout the system are being taken now, and, by law, the city must wait 24 hours for results before the advisory can be lifted. Residents can go to Versailles.ky.gov for updates.
