Inmate serving robbery sentence escapes from Blackburn prison in Lexington

Authorities are looking for an inmate who escaped Monday night from the Blackburn Correctional Complex in Lexington.

Billy Dean Rose, 36, of Pulaski County disappeared from Blackburn about 9:45 p.m. Monday, according to Kentucky State Police.

Rose is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 230 pounds. He is white with brown hair and green eyes, police said. He has several tattoos, including a bird tattoo on his left hand.

Police said Rose might be headed to Somerset.

Rose was serving a 16-year sentence for second-degree robbery and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
