Lexington firefighters had to ignore Monday afternoon's cold weather to battle a fire that they say was intentionally set at a residence on Owsley Avenue.
Units were dispatched to 330 Owsley Avenue just before 2 p.m., and arrived to find heavy flames coming from the front of the unoccupied building, Battalion Chief Brian Wainscott said.
Crews quickly knocked down the flames, working in what Wainscott called "adverse conditions," because of the cold.
No one was injured.
Earlier Monday, fire officials say, a second fire was intentionally set at another vacant home.
Firefighters were called to 437 Hollow Creek Dr. at about 6:15 a.m.
The two fires are not thought to be related.
