A Lexington man faces various charges related to obscene matter distributed by a cellphone.
On Friday, Lexington police charged Jacob Carter Wasson, 32, with distributing obscene matter to a minor; prohibited use of electronic communication to procure a minor for a sex offense; distribution of matter portraying a sex offense by a minor; and tampering with physical evidence.
Wasson is accused of distributing a photo of a penis to a minor with knowledge of the minor's age, court documents say. The documents also say that Wasson used a cellphone for the purpose of procuring a 13-year-old for sexual intercourse, and transmitted digital matter showing the 13-year-old in a sexual performance.
Wasson allegedly deleted evidence from his cellphone, the documents say. He was lodged in the Fayette County jail.
