Lexington police are still searching for suspects in two retail robberies this weekend.
The most recent incident took place at 4:20 p.m. Sunday when a suspect went into the Little Caesars Pizza on Versailles Road, presented a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash. Police say the cashier complied and the suspect fled on foot toward downtown Lexington. He was described as a black male wearing khakis, a gray hoodie and possibly a blue mask.
Shortly after midnight, a man attempted to rob the Shell gas station on Leestown Road. Police say he went to the counter as if he was going to make a purchase, then showed a blunt object, like a crowbar, and demanded money. He fled on foot toward Leestown Road. Police describe him as a white male, bald with a goatee, 6-feet, 210 pounds, wearing a blue hoodie and shorts.
