A man was shot in the leg Wednesday morning, and Lexington police are looking for a green Chevy Monte Carlo. The shooting was reported by a friend about 10 a.m.
Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said police initially went to Elm Tree Lane near Fourth Street shortly after 10 a.m., after someone reported that his friend had been shot.
Officers found the victim, who was wounded in the leg, Roberts said. He was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
The shooting apparently occurred on Loudon Avenue near North Broadway, Roberts said.
Roberts said the man was on Loudon, when one or possibly two men in the Monte Carlo fired shots, hitting him in the leg. Bullets also struck the victim's car, she said.
The victim is expected to recover, police said.
An investigation is continuing.
