Four adults have been charged with robbery after two pedestrians were stopped at gunpoint on Walden Drive near Tates Creek Road early Wednesday morning.
Roberts said a victim told officers that he and a friend were walking along Walden Drive about 1:30 a.m. on their way to a nearby Kroger store when they were accosted by several men with handguns, according to police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts.
The robbers took the victims' wallets and cell phones and were last seen in a dark colored Oldsmobile traveling rapidly toward Wilson Downing Road, police said.
Shortly afterward, an officer spotted the Oldsmobile near Man o' War Boulevard and Rapid Run Drive, Roberts said. Four handguns and a shotgun were recovered from the car, along with items taken in the robbery.
Five occupants from the vehicle were taken into custody and transported to police headquarters to be interviewed, Roberts said.
The four charged are: Kristian S. Roberts, 18; Damon K. Johnson, 18; Tyus Whitaker-Blackburn, 19; and Jeremy McGee, 19. A 14-year-old male juvenile also was detained, according to Roberts.
The four adults were taken to the Fayette County Detention Center,
