Boyle County crash kills driver ejected from vehicle

A Harrodsburg man was killed Thursday in a single-vehicle crash in Boyle County, Kentucky State Police said.

William C. Edwards, 55, was pronounced dead at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, where he was taken after the crash, state police said in a news release.

Edwards was traveling south on Ky. 33 just north of Danville when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a culvert. He was ejected when his vehicle overturned.

State police said it did not appear that Edwards was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and alcohol might be a factor in the collision.

The crash, about 2 p.m. Thursday, is being investigated by Trooper Frank Thornberry.
