Woman cited after 3-year-old falls off moped in Lexington

Lexington police cited a woman for wanton endangerment Monday night after she lost control of a Moped and her nephew fell off the vehicle.

It happened about 9:30 p.m. Monday in a parking lot at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Bainbridge Drive, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

According to police, Lashayla Holmes, 20, was operating the moped with her 3-year-old nephew sitting on her lap.

Her nephew fell off, suffering moderate injuries to his head. He was treated at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

Holmes was cited for second-degree wanton endangerment, Roberts said.
