Three people were arrested Monday night on various drug-related charges after police received a call about a burglary.
Officers went to an apartment in the 100 block of Malabu Drive shortly after 8 p.m., and found that a front door had been forced open and a number of people apparently were inside.
When officers knocked on the door, they heard what sounded like a gunshot, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
Officers then established a perimeter outside and waited for backup.

Roberts said officers could hear movement in the apartment, but they got no response when they told those inside to come out. The Emergency Response Unit, or tactical team, was called out, she said.
Three people came out of the apartment moments later and were taken into custody while the ERU was en route.
Arrested were Stephanie Land, 20, identified as the resident of the apartment; her boyfriend, Lavonia Brown, 38; and his friend, Matthew Jarvis, 40. All three were charged with first-degree possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Roberts said Brown and Jarvis also were charged with other offenses under several unrelated warrants.
An investigation was continuing.
