Human remains have been found in a remote area of western Anderson County, Anderson County Coroner Mark Tussey said Sunday.
Tussey said two deer hunters found the contents of a man's wallet Saturday evening and took it to Lawrenceburg police.
Deputies from the Anderson County sheriff's office went to the scene on private property off New Liberty Road that was not accessible by car and found a human bone.
A search of the area Sunday produced 60 bags of skeletonized remains and various articles such as clothing, a cellphone and eyeglasses, said Tussey.

The bags were taken to the state medical examiner's office in Frankfort for investigation.
Tussey said that no positive identification had been made and that he suspected the remains had been there for a few months.
