Man shot in Lexington during argument over money; shooter is sought

A man was shot Thursday afternoon during an argument in Lexington's East End neighborhood.

Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said officers were called to the 500 block of Pemberton Street about 1:30 p.m. after the man was shot by another man in an argument over money.

One man was in a silver car and the other was standing on the street during the argument. The man in the car got out and shot the other man before getting back into the car and driving off, Roberts said.

WKYT-TV reported that the man was shot in the chest and was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with injuries that didn't appear to be life-threatening.

Roberts said the men knew each other, but specifics about the shooting were being investigated.

Police did not have a description of the shooter.
