Lexington man dies after shooting; city's 16th homicide of year

A man who was shot multiple times Sunday afternoon died a few hours later from his injuries.

The Fayette County coroner's office confirmed Sunday evening that Walter Gray, 31, of Lexington had died at UK Medical Center.

Lt. Jesse Harris of the Lexington Police Department said police arrived at Warnock Street at Goodloe in the East End at 2:20 p.m. to find the 31-year-old male victim in the street.

Police have no information on the shooter, Harris said. Homicide detectives continued to investigate Sunday evening.

Gray was Lexington's 16th homicide this year.
