Police search for man who robbed Ramada Inn in Lexington

Police are looking for an armed man who robbed a Ramada Inn in Lexington early Monday morning.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said the man entered the motel on North Broadway just after 4 a.m., displayed a black handgun and demanded money.

He left on foot after grabbing cash from a register and rifling through drawers and file cabinets, Roberts said.

According to police, the robber was described as about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 180 pounds with a beard. He was wearing a black bandanna over his face, a gray hoodie and black pants with an orange stripe, officers said.

Police searched the area but couldn't find the robber.

Roberts said, police did arrest two guests at the motel on drug-related charges.

The two, identified as Chase Vanlandingham and Brandi Blackburn, were charged with trafficking in crystal methamphetamine on warrants unrelated to the robbery, Roberts said.

An investigation is continuing.
