Two people pleaded guilty Wednesday to making 143 counterfeit $20 bills in Powell County.
Timothy Ray Profitt and Amanda Marie Profitt admitted copying real bills to make fake ones in September and October 2013. They sold the counterfeit money at a discount with the knowledge that others would pass the bills, according to their plea agreements.
The two sold fake bills with a value of $2,860 for $460, according to court documents.
The maximum sentence on the charge is 20 years. The couple is to be sentenced in March.
