A man who was shot in the leg and was taken to a Lexington hospital after an attempted robbery now faces drug charges.
Ben Sharpe, 45, is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and cultivating marijuana (more than five plants), according to Lexington police.
Officers were called to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital after Sharpe arrived with a gunshot wound at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday. Sharpe told police two men came into his home on the 300 block of Manhattan Drive and assaulted and shot him late Tuesday.
Police charged Sharpe after investigators found evidence of the reported assault, plus narcotics and an indoor marijuana cultivation operation, police said.
Sharpe was at UK Hospital Thursday, being treated for his injuries.
