A corrections officer at Blackburn Correctional Complex was arrested and charged after he allegedly brought a small amount of marijuana into the Lexington prison.
David M. Bailey, 26, of Lexington was charged Sunday with first-degree promoting contraband, according to Fayette District Court records.
Bailey entered a not guilty plea Monday in district court.
The marijuana was found during a random search of Bailey. He was read his rights but told his supervisors that he would like his attorney present before questioning. No further attempts at questioning were made, according to the district court records.
