A man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds along a rural Lexington road Monday night, and the death was being investigated as a homicide, the coroner said.
Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said the man was found in the backseat of a four-door sedan that was on the side of Johnston Road, which runs between Bryan Station Road and Paris Pike.
Ginn said the man had not been identified but was thought to be Hispanic and was possibly in his 20s.
He said an autopsy would be conducted by the state medical examiner in Frankfort.
Police were called to the scene at 7:31 p.m.
Lt. Chris Spurlock said there were no suspects.
It was the city's second homicide of the year.
