A Lexington man was convicted last week in a 2012 shooting death outside an apartment complex.
Brandon Lamont Bailey was charged with murder for the Dec. 1, 2012, slaying of Anthony Logan. Bailey, 29, shot Logan, 22, as the two were involved in a fight, police have said. Logan died of multiple gunshot wounds.
According to court documents, a witness identified Bailey in a lineup as the person who shot Logan outside an apartment complex on Cambridge Drive.
On Dec. 11, 2012, Bailey, after relatives persuaded him, turned himself at the Lex18 news station. He was arrested a short time later. A Fayette Circuit Court jury found Bailey guilty of murder and on Feb. 5 recommended a 30-year sentence.
Sentencing for Bailey, who is also charged with failure to appear, is scheduled for March 20 before Judge James D. Ishmael. Bailey was being held in the Fayette County jail.
