Lexington police are asking the public to help them find a man who fired into a moving vehicle Saturday afternoon and severely injured a 9-year-old boy.
Police on Sunday released a composite sketch — depicting a Hispanic man age 19 to 25 — of a suspect.
Police also released photos of a white four-door Nissan Altima, either a 2001, 2002 or 2003 model, the shooter allegedly was driving.
Police were called to 1509 Russell Cave Road — the Russell Cave Plaza parking lot — shortly after 5:45 p.m. Saturday in response to a shooting. A family told officers they were driving near Hollow Creek and Russell Cave roads when someone fired into their vehicle. The 9-year-old was the only person injured.
Police said Sunday that they worked with the family of the victim — whose name has not been released -- to come up with the sketch.
