A Lexington man accused of trying to set a woman on fire last weekend pleaded not guilty during an arraignment Monday afternoon in Fayette District Court.
Police arrested Gilberto Reyes about 11:45 p.m. Saturday on a charge of first-degree wanton endangerment.
According to an arrest citation, Reyes allegedly sprayed the woman with lighter fluid, then attempted to light her on fire "under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life."
It happened about 10 p.m. Saturday at an apartment on Cambridge Drive, according to court records.
