Lexington police arrest man in thefts from mailboxes

Lexington police say they have arrested a man who had been stealing mail.

Undercover officers saw David Clark, 43, stealing mail from houses in the area of Park Avenue and then moments later around Kalmia Avenue at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.

"Officers were able to make contact with the suspect and retrieve the stolen mail items," according to the release.

Residents of the neighborhood recently reported that a man was stealing mail from houses.

Clark was charged with theft of mail matter. He also was wanted on two unrelated warrants.
