A man was shot in the shoulder early Wednesday while walking through Martin Luther King Park, Lexington police said.
Officers were sent about 1:40 a.m. to a home on Gerald Drive, where the victim had gone after being shot, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
The victim told police that he encountered a man dressed all in black who shot him once then ran toward Burgess Drive. The park is near Winburn Drive between Russell Cave Road and Newtown Pike.
The victim was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Roberts said.
