A state trooper was injured after his cruiser was hit twice by a semi truck that then fled in London on Friday night.
Just before midnight, Trooper Donnie Foley was stopped at a red light in a marked state police cruiser on westbound Ky. 192 at the intersection with Ky. 363, according to a news release from state police.
The truck rear-ended Foley's cruiser in the westbound lane, then hit the car a second time before turning right onto Ky. 363 and driving away toward London, state police said.
Foley was injured and the cruiser was severely damaged.
State police said "numerous police units" responded to a broadcast about the crash, but they were unable to find the semi, which was described as a dark-colored truck without a trailer. It probably has front-end damage.
Foley was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital in London. He was released Saturday.
State police asked that anyone with information about the truck or its operator call Post 11 at (606) 878-6622.
