An 18-year-old Lee County woman was killed Wednesday when a motorcycle and a pickup truck collided. Kentucky State Police said the driver of the pickup was drunk.
Taylor Lainhart, 18, of Beattyville died of blunt-force injuries at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, police said.
Lainhart was a passenger on the motorcycle, operated by Jeremiah Taylor, 24, of Richmond. Police said the motorcycle was northbound on Ky. 11 just before 7 p.m. when it collided with the pickup, operated by Jesse Bennett, 49, of Mistletoe, police said.
Lainhart and Taylor were flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, police said. Taylor was listed in critical condition, UK Hospital spokeswoman Julie Phillips said.
Bennett was arrested on a charge of murder, second-degree assault, aggravated DUI, and having an open alcoholic beverage, police said. He was being held in the Three Forks Regional Jail.
Kentucky State Police are investigating the collision.
