A man was shot in the leg early Tuesday morning at a motel off Interstate 64 in north Lexington.
At 4:50 a.m., officers received a report of shots fired at the Red Roof Inn on Haggard Court, near Interstate 64 and U.S. 27/U.S. 68 on Lexington's north side.
Police found the shooting victim inside a white SUV.
The victim, who had been shot in the leg, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, Lexington police Lt. Kevin Metcalf said.
A witness told police that three men fled after the shooting.
A horse trailer and at least one other vehicle at the motel were hit by bullets, Metcalf said.
