A Nicholasville man was charged Thursday in connection with the theft of guns, ammunition and other equipment from a Lexington police officer's vehicle, Nicholasville police said.
Anthony Fomas, 18, was charged with receiving stolen property (firearms), a felony offense punishable by one to five years in prison.
Four rifles, ammunition and flashlights were recovered through an investigation that had detectives "going all over the state," Nicholasville police said in a release.
The items were taken during the early morning hours of Oct. 26 from the Lexington officer's unmarked vehicle on Autumn Hills Way in Nicholasville.
Fomas remained in the Jessamine County Detention Center on Friday in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond.
The investigation is ongoing and police said more charges might be filed.
