Here's something you don't see reported stolen every day: a one-ton propane generator.
The Kentucky State Police post in Harlan received a complaint Wednesday from East Kentucky Power about a generator stolen from the top of Black Mountain. That's highest peak in the state.
The Kohler 20KW propane power system was stolen from a communication-control site about two to three weeks ago in the area of Slope Hollow off of Ky. 179 in Harlan County, state police said in a release. The generator is described as eight feet long, three feet wide and weighing one ton.
The cost of the lost generator and the vandalism done at the site was estimated at $40,000, state police said.
