A suspect in several burglaries was arrested and charged hours after a Tates Creek Road gas station was burglarized early Wednesday, according to Lexington police.

Victor G. Littleton, 50, was charged with seven counts of burglary and other charges, police said. Littleton is accused of several other burglaries in the last month at area businesses, including Ferguson Enterprises, Big B Liquors, The Tennis Store of Lexington and Ms. Holly’s Barber Shop.

Littleton was apprehended after officers responded to the Speedway at about 2:30 a.m. because of an alarm, police said. Officers in the area identified Littleton as the burglar.

Littleton fled in a vehicle, which an officer observed, police said. Littleton did not pull over his vehicle for the officer.

Littleton jumped from the car while it was moving and it crashed into a car parked on the street, according to police. Officers pursued Littleton on foot and apprehended him. Items from multiple burglaries were in Littleton’s car.

Police are still investigating, and detectives believe Littleton might be involved with more burglaries in Lexington, Georgetown, Nicholasville and Versailles.
