A temporary employee at a Lexington doctor’s office has been charged after allegedly sexually abusing a patient, police said.

McKenzie Daniel Joseph, 35, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with sexual abuse after Lexington police received a complaint Monday. The victim told police Joseph intentionally subjected the victim to sexual contact without consent, Sgt. Ann Welch said.

The name of the doctor’s office was not released because it would reveal the victim’s medical treatment.

Welch said the case was assigned to the police department’s Domestic, Violence and Sexual Assault unit for investigation. The victim had no physical injuries.

Police arrested Joseph at the police department Tuesday without incident, Welch said. Joseph was a temporary employee of the doctor’s office and is no longer employed there Welch said.

Sgt. Jennifer Taylor of Lexington Fayette Urban County Community Corrections said Joseph was released Tuesday night.
