A man was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with life-threatening injuries Thursday after being shot twice on Hawkins Avenue.
The suspect in the shooting is thought to have driven around the block two or three times before shooting the victim, Lexington police Lt. Jackie Newman said.
Police believe the suspect was looking for the victim and shot him when he came out of his home at about 2 p.m., Newman said. Investigators didn’t have immediate information about the suspect and they were given conflicting descriptions of the suspect’s vehicle.
The victim was in the road when he was shot once in the hip and once in the leg, Newman said. The victim was not cooperating with officers.
