Harlan County woman charged with murder in husband’s shooting death

A Harlan County woman was charged with murder early Thursday after her husband died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Ruby Webb, 51, of Harlan was being held in the Harlan County jail after Charles Webb, 59, was shot in the stomach and a hand, according to Kentucky State Police.

Charles Webb was taken to a local hospital, where he told police his wife had shot him, state police said. He later died.

The shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. on Pope Hill Road in the Dressen community, according to state police.

The investigation remains open.
