Police arrest four people after finding bodies in Lee County


Kentucky State Police have arrested four people after finding two bodies since Friday in a remote section of Lee County.

The body of Billy Ryan Roark, 28, was found Friday off Hell Creek Road in a wooded area northeast of Beattyville, coroner Brandon Gabbard said. The body of James Robert Brown, 36, was found at the same place Saturday, Gabbard said.

The men were shot to death Thursday night in two separate incidents, state police said.

Late Sunday, state police said they have arrested four people in connection with the deaths: Wesley T. Johnson, 22, of Irvine and Kevin F. Kendall, 32, Beattyville, are charged with complicity to murder. Anthony T. Taylor, 34, of Beattyville and Kasandra K. White, 23, of Beattyville are charged with murder and complicity to murder.

The defendants remained Sunday night in the Three Forks Regional Jail in Beattyville.
