Two Lexington gas stations robbed; descriptions of gunman similar

Armed robbers held up two Lexington gas stations late Tuesday and early Wednesday, police said.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, the Shell station at 435 West New Circle Road was robbed by a man armed with a gun. He wore all black and had something over his face, Lt. David Biroschik said.

He demanded cash and ran out the door, possibly getting into a gold vehicle.

Then, at 1:13 a.m. Wednesday, the Speedway on Paris Pike was robbed by a man wearing all black and with a red bandanna over his face, Biroschik said.

The robber had a handgun, demanded cash and left the store in an unknown direction.

Police are trying to determine whether the same man was involved in both robberies.

Both “have the same kind of description,” Biroschik said.
