The top winner will get a $20,000 scholarship. The competition is open to the descendants of wartime veterans who served honorably. Delegates to Boys State and Girls State, a summer leadership and citizenship program sponsored by The American Legion, may apply for the scholarship.
Noger was selected during the Kentucky Girls State program at the University of the Cumberlands in June.
At Henry Clay, Noger competes on the track team, is treasurer of the National Honor Society and is a DARE role model. She plans to major in biochemistry or pre-medicine, with the goal of becoming a pediatrician.
