Four candidates for the presidency of Transylvania University will be on campus later this month to meet with students, faculty and staff, according to a memo from William T. Young, chairman of the board of trustees.

Campus forums have been scheduled for each of the four candidates on Jan. 26, Jan. 28, Jan. 30 and Feb. 3.

Young said everyone on campus will be able to comment on the candidates using an online survey. After the presidential search committee has reviewed the comments, the group will make its recommendations to the board of trustees, which is scheduled to meet Feb. 7.

"Assuming an agreement can be reached with the preferred candidate, a new president could be announced before the end of February," the memo said. "Our goal is to have a new president take office July 1."

President Owen Williams announced his resignation last June, shortly after a no-confidence vote by the faculty.
