Lexington fire officials say the floor of an apartment near the University of Kentucky campus partially collapsed early Sunday under the weight of a partying crowd.
About 80 to 100 people were packed inside a fourth-floor apartment at The Lex, 521 South Broadway, officials told WKYT-TV. Fire crews said the weight of the students caused the floor to buckle and partially collapse. No one was injured.
Officials say residents in the apartment where the party was held and residents in the apartment below were being moved to a hotel for two weeks while repairs were made. One apartment has been condemned.
A man who answered the phone at The Lex office late Sunday and who said he was the manager confirmed "an isolated incident where a private social gathering resulted in damage to their unit and an adjacent apartment."

"The Lex will be working with authorities to inspect any damage and to repair the unit to like-new conditions quickly," said the man, who declined to give his name. "It is not expected that this incident or these damages will affect any other residents."
