The Fayette County school board has added a second day of interviews this week for the interim superintendent position.
The interviews will be part of school board meetings at noon Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Friday.
School board chairman John Price has said he is hopeful that an interim superintendent could be hired by Dec. 5.
That's about a week before Superintendent Tom Shelton's last work day on Dec. 12. Shelton is resigning to become the executive director of the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents.
The board also is convening a superintendent search committee to help choose for the permanent position.
