Funeral services set for Lexington girl who died after being hit by van

Funeral services have been set for a 12-year-old girl who died after being hit by a van at Constitution Park on Friday.

Services for Sierra Maria Hubbard will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on East Main Street. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Sierra was the daughter of Tammy Hubbard and the late Joseph Hubbard.

She was a student at Leestown Middle School and a member of the Baptist Church at Andover.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, Michael Hall; two sisters, Samantha and Jessica; a brother, Joseph; and her maternal grandparents, John and Geraldine Toney.

Police have said Sierra was walking next to a 2005 Kia Sedona being driven by Jullie B. Reece at the park, behind Northern Elementary School on Rookwood Parkway, when she fell while trying to get into the van.

Police said that two of Sierra's siblings were in the van and that they referred to Reece as their godmother.

The van, moving at 5 mph or slower, hit Sierra and caused a severe head injury, police said.
